Family Photo Shoots

So 3 cameras and 300 dollars later (it's a long story), I have my camera back - all better.  And I have a couple family shoots to share.  I can hardly wait to post Miquel's formals, so look forward to those on Sunday!

I got bored with my current logo, so I started messing around with a new one the other day and this is what I came up with.  I'm not sure if I like the iron work sign thing, but I love the whole circle graphic and the lettering.  So I'll see how I feel about it after using it for a while. :) Who, knows, I might get bored again. :)

Argh!

I was just finishing up a family photo session and my shutter wouldn't release.  The view screen showed an error message:

So I did. Nothing.
And did, again.  Still nothing.
I checked the battery, changed lenses, turned it off and on . . .
and got nothing.
It seemed that my camera was done for the evening whether I was or not.  Luckily we were just finishing up and not just starting.
We googled it and found one hopeful post that said the camera just needs to be cleaned.  Hopefully that's all it is!

Kyle + Miquel

Another niece engaged, another engagement photo shoot.  It was my first shoot in the orchards; loved it so much! We ran out of light too soon at the train tracks, but got some awesome shots.  Miquel is so dang photogenic! Love her serious poses.  Enjoy!

Randy & Krista

Finally here are some of my favorites from both Randy and Krista's engagement shoot and their formal shoot.  These two are so photogenic we ended up with so many good shots.  And they were the perfect lovey couple (in case you don't know them) which makes for great couple pictures. :)

We were so glad that we went up to the temple to do formals before the wedding.  We were able to take as much time as we needed and there was only one other wedding there while we were.  On the day of the wedding there were sooo many people, it would have been so hard to do half of these shots.  Plus we were able to capture a lot more of the blossoming trees, which by the time of the wedding had shed their blossoms.

Randy & Krista's Formals

I got to do formals for my nephew and his fiance this past weekend.  It was a lot of fun and we got some great shots.  I promised I wouldn't post any pictures until after the wedding (which is on the 29th) so look for those that weekend.  (I obviously couldn't resist posting at least one sneak peak)  I'll also be doing some group shots at the temple that day and at the reception too.  Wish me luck!

I used my new mono pod (that I got for my birthday) for the first time at the shoot.  It was very nice and easy to use.

Pinterest has been such an asset for photo shoots.  The bride had a board of wedding poses she liked, so we used those to help us during the shoot.  I also had a board of poses that I liked in case we needed more ideas.  It worked out great.

Little James

I was able to do newborn pictures for my sister's friend.  He was so very cute, looked just like a little man.  Sweetest lips you've ever seen.  The shoot took about 3 hours between trying to get a pose to work and getting baby James to finally fall asleep.  Newborn shoots are hard work. I hope his momma likes the shots we got.  :)  The shot of his big sister kissing him took about 5 tries -- a 2 year old can only hold a kiss for so long -- about a second.  :)  We captured some precious smiles too!
